Halloween Fun

This was our best Halloween yet...it was our third year attending Liberty Bible's Harvest Party but this year we are actually apart of the church, have a good number of friends, and were able to help a little bit here and there.

Madeline, of course, was excited to go to a party. She was disappointed when she found out the party had no cake (all parties she associates with cake), but when she learned that there would be candy AND toys she was sold.

She was especially excited to dress up in her Olympian outfit (otherwise known as Peon-see earlier blog!). She wasn't so thrilled to wait for Elizabeth to get dressed, but after everyone was ready she was cooperative about posing and anxious to get started.

We got there a little early and Madeline was happy to show her Daddy the rainbow we made (we helped make a balloon arch earlier in the day with multi-colored balloons). Soon after Daddy admired the arch, she was off. She wanted to play every game, twice. Jump in the jump house, twice and almost got in trouble for trying to refuse to eat dinner. After a short, and messy, break for dinner, she was back at it again. And then...

She discovered the cake walk. What a great concept for a three year old! She couldn't wait to ge her hands on a big cake or a plate of cupcakes. We were on the stage for at least 30 minutes before my number was finally called and, thankfully, April was so kind to exchange thte massive two layer cake for a small plate of four chocolate cupcakes.

Elizabeth checked out the scenario, decided it wasn't her kind of thing, and slept for two hours on Daddy!

Madeline started to wind down and we turned her tickets in for toys, snagged a few extra photos for the scrapbook, and headed out. The best part of the night--watching people drool over how adorable my kids were and watching Madeline get so excited.
