Madeline and the Care Bear

The first weekend in October I had a conference to attend in San Antonio with a layover in Denver. I extended my layover so I could spend time with my brother, his wife, daughter, my mom and my uncle. My brother & uncle picked me up from the airport and we spent the morning/afternoon at Dave & Buster's--seriously, one of the happiest places on earth!

We became addicted to one game in particular and in no time had enough tickets to win Caitlyn, my niece, a lifesize Care Bear. When turning in tickets and "buying" the Care Bear, we realized we were about 500 tickets short of winning Madeline a lifesize Horse. My brother, his wife, and my mom went back a week later in hopes of winning Madeline the horse. Unfortunately, after playing a bunch of games and earning a handful of tickets they discovered that Dave & Buster's was sold out of lifesize horses and got Madeline a Care Bear instead.

My mom stuffed this huge Care Bear in her trunk and gave it to Madeline on Saturday. Madeline instantly fell in love with her new Care Bear, dragging it around the house, sitting on it, cuddling it, and eating dinner with him (notice in the photo how she is sweetly holding his hand). She refused to go to bed without her Care Bear and last night wanted him to watch her sleep and keep her safe. He is extra special and it's sweet to watch her fall in love with her new Care Bear. And even though we don't have room for this gigantic toy, her heart sure does and he will be a permanent fixture in our house (especially since it's one toy we could never sneak away without her noticing!) Sorry the photos are fuzzy, they were taken with the camera on the phone.
